My story

This litter was born 10/3/21. The mother is a Beagle/Chihuahua mix and the father is unknown, but we suspect Australian Shepherd mix. We believe these puppies will grow to be 30-40lbs but can make no guarantees due to their mixed breed. Simon is accustomed to using pee pads. He has received age-appropriate vaccines, deworming, heartworm and flea prevention, and is microchipped. They will be spayed and neutered at 6 months of age by our rescue.

We require an application, home check, positive vet reference, and that all past and present animals in the home are fixed, vaccinated, and current on heartworm prevention year-round. Current/past pets must see a traditional veterinarian (not just a low-cost/SPCA/shot clinic) at least yearly. Your current/past pets must have a proven track record of excellent veterinary care. Current/past pets must be indoor only and may not have access to the yard unaccompanied (no doggie doors). Because our animals live in private foster homes as opposed to a shelter, we require an approved application before setting up a meet and greet. Adoption fee is based on the age of the dog being adopted. All dogs under one year of age must attend four training classes with their adopter at the Zoom Room in Virginia Beach. The fee for the classes is covered during the time of adoption ($60). We will not adopt puppies to an apartment hone due to their tendency to be vocal. Children in the home most be at least 4 years old. If you are serious about adopting, please fill out our application and return it to sospetrescue@yahoo.com. Our application may be found on www.saverofsoulspetrescue.com

Why adoption is a great option

Simon, a Va Beach Beagle/Australian Shepherd dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle/Australian Shepherd for sale in Va Beach, or seeking a Beagle/Australian Shepherd dog from a breeder in Va Beach.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Va Beach already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Va Beach breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle/Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Beagle/Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Va Beach paves the way for another one to be saved.
