Huxley arrived an "eyeless" feral cat who had been untouchable at the shelter. Once all her kittens were adopted (she had arrived pregnant) they reached out for us to take the lovely Huxley. Thankfully, Huxley's heart was winnable. Once she knew she was safe, Huxley started trusting, first one human then another. The beauty had eye surgery in November to remove the rotting globes from her sockets, and now she plays like a kitten, happy to be pain-free. Huxley is negative for FIV and feline leukemia. She's been spayed and vaccinated against rabies and distemper. Huxley now greets volunteers at the door and loves affection. She is available for adoption for $50 (as are all our adult cats--our rescue survives on donations). By the way, yes, she loves boxes. And she doesn't ever simply sit on the ground, always on top of something. A delightfully quirky girl.
