I am a very independent girl. I keep to myself and will occasionally seek out attention, I love kisses and all pets. I do not like being held or picked up, but I will come lay by you for pets and I really like my butt scratches. I am a loving and sweet girl. I will play with the occasional toy and love having a good box to sit in! I love to take naps!
I tolerate the other cats in the room but would prefer to be the only cat in my new home. I would blossom in a quiet home where I can watch birds from a window and sunbathe on a sunny afternoon. I am a big girl, but that just means there is more personality for you to get to know and love!
Having older children or no children in the home would be best for me. I may be okay with an older dog who is cat friendly, but also may prefer having the whole house to myself!
I know that given time and patience I will make a great companion for the right person, couple, or family

Approve Application
Processing takes 3-5 business days. We are currently not scheduling any visits without an approved application.

Meet the Pet
After approval, we will schedule you/your household to visit + meet the pet of interest.

Take the Pet Home
At the end of your visit, we would be able to complete adoption papers + you will take your new companion home!

Once your application is competed and submitted, processing generally takes 3 business days- pending our schedule and the number of applications ahead of yours. Once processed we will contact you and, if approved, will set up an appointment for an adoption counsel. If you are looking to adopt a dog and have a current dog in the home, we will require a match-up before finalizing any adoption.

We believe in second chances at the Humane Society of South Central Michigan. Our service area includes all of Calhoun County and parts of Kalamazoo, Barry and Branch counties. We keep animals as long as it takes to find a good home for adoption once the animal passes temperament testing and is checked for good health. The Watkins Road shelter cares for up to 100 animals a day, and adopts out more than 500 animals a year. Countless area residents use the Society’s animal care, adoption and education programs each year. The Humane Society is overseen by a board of directors. We do not receive any government or tax dollars, or national humane organization funding. Our services are made possible by people in our community who care about homeless cats and dogs - people like you!
