My story

Hi there! My name is Racer and I about 1-2 years old.

One day I got picked up by the local Police. Someone found me in their front yard. Instead of taking me to the shelter they brought me to a local vet. I waited there the time that is required but my family never came for me. Every day I kept looking out for them but nobody came.

Until, one day a TAR Rescuer came to the vet and they said “who’s boy is this?” The nice Volunteer said they can help me and from that minute on I was given a name and a plan to find me a forever home.

I am very playful and smart. I don’t think my other family ever taught me anything but I’ve already learned how to SIT, WAIT, PLACE and COME. I am very treat motivated and will do anything for those yummy treats.

I’ve met a young boy that has the same energy as me. You know us boys - like to get into trouble and play time is all we know. I’m just like that but my Rescuers think I should have a “caution” with little kids because I get so excited I might knock them down. You know that expression - Bull in the China shop? That’s me.

I like to play with that young boy and while we play there's an older dog that watches. I'm really gentle with her because she's much smaller than me.

Now that it's getting warmer out my foster Mom takes me to a dog beach. You know that place? OMG!!! It's A-W-E-S-O-M-E!! I like to play with the other dogs and I'm learning to FETCH. I haven't gone in the water yet (too cold) but it's so much fun running in the sand. When I get home boy, do I get my zzzz's!!

But my Rescuers say when I find my family I have so much to learn. Maybe they will teach me all the things good boys need to learn. Maybe we will go for long walks and I can play fetch with them. I can even be your running buddy. Oooh, here's an idea - running at Dog Beach?!?

All this fun can start with you! Just fill out an adoption application and my Rescuers will schedule a play date.

Thanks,

Racer

Go meet their pets

All our Treasured Gems are located in our foster homes. The location is noted in their individual profiles. We do not have a facility or shelter for meetings. Treasured Animal Rescue is not able to adopt out of the State of Illinois. Puppy/kitten adoptions must be close to our current Vet Clinics due to their spay/neutering. A Volunteer can advise of our Vet Clinic locations.
