Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Topanga von Topstedt is a beautiful 2 year old Shepherd mix. This sandy-coated girl with the fluffy tail is always ready to go. She recently got a glowing report back from her foster family who describes Topanga as simply adorable. She’s a young girl with the energy level to match. She is always looking forward to playing with you or another friendly dog. Topanga is eager to fetch balls, squeak toys and splash in a puppy pool. Walks are her joy. She minds her leash and is always eager to go one more block. Adjusting from life on the street, Topanga has blossomed in her foster home. She is happy to be around children, as well as dogs and cats who are tolerant of her ever willingness to play. Topanga is a loving girl. She enjoys giving kisses and getting cuddles. She eats up any sort of engagement and opportunities to wrassle around. While her report was quite complimentary on her house manners, Topanga enjoys spending lots of time outdoors. However, there has been a times when left to her own devices, she seeks out her own adventures. For that reason, she is seeking an active home that can make most of her youth and enjoyment of treats to set her on a path of a good training regime. Topanga is ready to leave her past behind and grow with you. So, if lovely Topanga seems like the right girl to walk alongside you, fill out the application linked below.

Based on our experience, Westside's current thinking is to usually match first-time shepherd owners with a mix versus a purebred shepherd. Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.
