My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

ChakaChaka - Westie Terrier Mix - Female - 4.5yrs - www.twyla.org

If you'd like to know more about this dog please visit our website at www.Twyla.org

Meet ChakaChaka: this sweet and shy little Terrier mix girl is about 4.5 years old and 18 lbs. Her Mom (Tootsie) is a bit smaller at 12 lbs and siblings range from 5-15 lbs., so her other parental lineage is a little larger. She is fully grown though. ChakaChaka is a quite unsure of new people, dogs and surroundings, but she is is pretty quick to trust a new person and attaches strongly to them. She will need another confident and calm dog to help her gain confidence and bridge learning new situations for her, either one of her siblings or a compatible dog of similar size. ChakaChaka is crate trained, rides well in the car and fully housetrained, although she does rely on Pee-pads on occasion. She is still learning to walk on leash and is moderately food motivated, attention and affection are her biggest motivators.

She is a classic Velcro dog that will follow you rather closely wherever you go in the house, and she prefers not to be a long for long, although with another canine companion she doesn't mind as much. She is looking for a quiet to moderately active home, with another similar-sized, calm and confident dog in it. Older children might be fine as well, as small children with lots of noises and activities will likely scare her.

***Please note: All dogs are fostered in private homes of volunteers, so to meet a dog please fill out an Adoption Application on our website (http://www.twyla.org/adopt/our-adoption-process) so we may setup a private meetup with the dog or coordinate for an Introduction at the next general Adoption Meet and Greet (as listed on our website: (http://www.twyla.org/upcoming-events), as not all dogs attend all Meet and Greets***
