My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Maxine's adoption fee is sponsored by a generous supporter. Maxine's adopter pays -0- adoption fee.

Maxine is a sweet 2 year old cat who has been through a lot in her short life. She lived outside fending for herself until she came into rescue this past spring.
When she arrived at FHAR she was pregnant and had an eye that needed to be removed.
Shortly after arriving at her foster home, she gave birth to 4 kittens. Soon after giving birth she became sick with a fever leaving her unable to care for kittens. Her foster mom took over bottle feeding the kittens so Maxine could focus on getting better.

After Maxine recovered, she was spayed and had her eye removed.
She gets along fine with one eye and you can't even really tell she is missing an eye because of the coloring on her face.

Maxine is a sweet cat but a little shy until she trusts you which is understandable after all she has been through. She will do best in a quiet home with adopters that will have patience and allow her to become comfortable with them.

She gets along fine with other cats and kittens. In fact, she acts as a surrogate mother of sorts for other kittens at her foster home. She is also fine with dogs.

Adoption fee: Sponsored.

Maxine's foster home is located in Hampstead (Carroll County).
