My story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Carrie began life as an indoor pet, but was callously tossed outside when she found herself pregnant. Fortunately a kind woman took it upon herself to feed and look out for Carrie (and her now four babies) as much as she could.

Fast forward a few weeks later and it was decided that outdoors was not going to be Carrie’s ultimate fate. She and her babies were whisked into a foster home where they get as much food and love as they want. Carrie’s days as an outdoor single mama kitty are over. It’s time for her to put the past behind her and settle into a life of comfort and indoor living.

Despite being abandoned by her previous family, she is still a sweet and affectionate (and talkative!) kitty.

Are you ready to meet Carrie? Is your home her soft place to call forever?

More about this rescue

Second Chance” is not a second chance for dogs, because that would presume they had a first chance and failed. The majority of the dogs we rescue never had any chances, first, second, or otherwise. The name of our rescue refers to giving humans a second chance to provide a safe, healthy, and loving home and environment for our dogs, since most of these dogs come to us after they have been abused or neglected by their owners. SCF solely relies on volunteers to get the work done and no one receives compensation for their work. SCF receives no funding from the government or the United Way. Our adoption fees and donations from other dog lovers cover our costs.
