My story

Scooby Doo is a 16-month-old male Shepherd mix who came in very fearful and untrusting of humans. He absolutely adores other dogs and wants nothing more than canine companions.
Over time Scooby has started to become trusting of humans but needs a dedicated owner willing to spend the necessary time to gain his trust. Scooby needs a home with other dogs who will speed the process by teaching him the joys of being a beloved pet.
Scooby is fully vaccinated (Rabies, Distemper/Parvo, and Bordetella), and will be neutered, microchipped, and heartworm tested prior to finalizing his adoption.

If you are interested in learning more about Scooby, please submit a foster/adopt application: https://www.sandovalcountynm.gov/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/FosterAdoptApplication.pdf which can be sent back to the sandovalpets@sandovalcountynm.gov email.

Additional adoption info

After applying for an adoptable animal we screen all adopters via application, phone interview and meet/greet. Once that has gone through we will schedule a home visit to ensure everyone is happy with their decision. If the home visit goes well and the adopter wants to move forward we will leave the pet in their possession and allow them to "foster" for up to two weeks to make their final decision. If the decision is to adopt, we will finalize paperwork, collect the adoption fee, and transfer all information to the new adopters.

Go meet their pets

At this time we are only allowing potential adopters to schedule an appointment to meet adoptable pets. Please email sandovalpets@sandovalcountynm.gov or call 505-867-7642 for more information.
