Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Gene is being fostered in Chicago.
Gene is the absolute sweetest and biggest hearted boy you will ever meet. He is so full of love and wants to please his people more than anything. He loves to follow us around the house wherever we go. He loves to play tug and wrestle with his housemates. Gene would love nothing more than another canine companion or to be someone's adventure dog. He LOVES walks and belly rubs.
You would never know upon meeting him that he is blind. He has never let his lack of sight hold him back! Gene visited an ophthalmologist who confirmed that he is permanently blind due to multiple congenital abnormalities. His eyes are not causing him any problems currently but he does have a slightly increased risk of developing glaucoma in the future so occasional monitoring is recommended.
He is a complete stud, who knows how to use his good looks to his advantage!
Gene is a big boy, and can express his love very exuberantly. Though he can be very gentle and would likely do well in a home with children, he may be overwhelming to smaller kids.
If you are looking for an active dog, with a heart of gold, and a zest for life, look no further than Gene!
