My story

Online Adoption Application

Louie is a retired TomCat who has spent all of his life outside. He has come to that age now where he prefers to be indoors only, on a soft pillow, preferably on a window sill. At 9 Lives Cat Rescue we have monitored him now for several months and he has shown no aggression, even no interest at all, towards other cats. He just wants to watch the world for the little remaining time he has left.

Louie has almost no teeth left in his mouth and prefers soft/ canned food but will also eat the occasional dry food. He is a lap cat and likes being petted, he loves the occasional conversation where he remains a silent listener. If he is approached too quickly though he is usually spooked and will walk away.

We at 9 Lives Cat Rescue are looking for a home for him where he can spend his few remaining years at a home that will love him. Not really surprising, but he tested positive for Feline Leukemia, which can be transferred through mating and deep bite wounds. At 9 Lives Cat Rescue we believe he would be ok in a household as a single cat, with other cats that are laid back like him and are vaccinated for Felv.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Our 9LCR cats are not routinely tested for FIV and FeLV for various reasons, one being to keep the costs and hence the adoption fee affordable. This decision is based on studies that have found that only about 4% of cats are actually infected. The funds for testing are better utilized for our spay and neuter efforts of owned and community cats in order to save the most cats. However, testing can be performed upon request and need to be covered by the person interested in adopting.
9 Lives Cats have been spayed or neutered and have updated vaccinations. 9 Lives is run entirely on volunteers. Please give us 2-7 days to process your application. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us! Please fill out our application form found here: t.ly/38VV
Adoption fee is $70.00.

More about this rescue

We started 9 Lives Cat Rescue to find homes for cats that are homeless or need to be relocated.
We are a no-kill, non-profit group. Our cats live in foster homes until they are adopted. We spay & neuter every cat before they are adopted.
We fully support our local no-kill feral cat group who practices TNR (Trap, Neuter & Return).
