Born 3/21/12, 20-25 lbs. Dear little Sophie was turned in by her family from 8 weeks because another dog in the family was too pushy with her. We adore her - really a sweetheart. Active- she likes playing wirh her best friends and searching for food! Full disclosure, She has taken meds for epilepsy for some time. We have successfully weened her off of them with CBD oil - so far, so good. Her family said she only ever had seizures in the Fall...not quite understanding that....
She also had her lady parts very relaxed, but not prolapsed. Our wonderful vet gave her a "lift" while removing a little bump on her chin. We've got "before" and "after photos...it's not cosmetic as another vet said, but folds of skin that harbor yeast...a fungus that takes long time to clear up. This was brought on because she lost a lot of weight awhile back.
Lastly, we removed a lot of very tiny kidney stones and adjusted her diet and are giving some natural meds to promote kidney health. She is such a love
We are hopeful that she will live on for some years and understand that some families play the odds that getting a younger dog means longer life - not always the case.
Years ago, at the funeral of a teen-ager...the Irish priest told a story about a man on his journey....the bottom line was that if you have the love of family and/or friends, you've lived a complete life no matter how long or short. We've had folks adopt senior dogs who have lived weeks or few months, fallen deeply in love and treasured that time together - changed their lives....the person/s and dog.
We believe she will get her right home - same with Lucas - and if that home is B&B, we are content, and so are they. And so it is....
