My story

Say hello to Hashbrown! She is a 2 year old cat who is still learning to trust new people. In the past she lived in a home with multiple other cats and would likely do much better in a home where she has a kitty companion. Hashbrown is still a young cat who enjoys playing with her toys, but will gladly spend her day perched on her cat tree or resting in her cat bed. If you're looking for a shy cat to help come out of their shell, then Hashbrown may be the perfect girl for you!Hashbrown is currently a resident at Happy Tails thrift shop and is ready to find her forever home. Stop in at 1770 Merriman RoadAkron, OH 44313 to see this lovely lady and adopt in store. Visit https://www.summithumane.org/thrift-shop for store hours!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

All of our adoptable animals are up-to-date on all age appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, de-wormed, de-flea and microchipped before adoptions are finalized. All dogs over six months of age receive a temperament assessment by our Certified Professional Dog Trainer to ensure appropriate placement. Also, many animals in our care receive basic obedience training to improve manners and increase adoptability. We are currently doing adoptions by appointment only. Please contact us by phone at (234) 212-9843 or email at adoptions@summithumane.org, and an adoption counselor will return your message. They will review our adoption process, answer any questions, and tell you more about the animals currently available for adoption at our shelter and in our foster program. If we have a match for you and your family, an appointment will be scheduled to meet the animal. Additional questions can be directed to our adoption team at (234) 212-9843. Adoption Fees: Dogs 6 months or under: $175 6 months to 5 years: $125 6 years or older (or special needs): $50 Cats 6 months or under: $75 (or two kittens for $100) 6 months to 5 years: $50 6 years or older (or special needs): $20 Senior to Senior Program: For adopters age 60 or older, adoption fees are reduced to $15 if the animal is 3 years or older. This service is made possible through the Pets for the Elderly Foundation. You will be asked to provide proof of age. Veteran Pet Program: Veterans and active military personnel receive 25% off of adoption fees. Valid military ID is required.

More about this shelter

Since 1968, the Humane Society of Summit County (HSSC) has been the trusted caretaker and advocate for Summit County’s victims of animal abuse, neglect, and abandonment and stray animals suffering from illness and injury. We employ two full-time Humane Officers who respond to emergency calls, investigate animal cruelty, and, as warranted, prosecute offenders. We protect and care for our community’s abused, discarded, and forgotten animals. We strive every day to rehabilitate our rescued animals, find them great homes, and provide them with bright futures.
