Victor is a large, handsome Dobie who is a good dog in most ways. He had been adopted from an animal shelter and was then returned because he awoke from a nap, startled, and nipped the owner on her head. He also wasn't tolerant of her small dog. Many - or even most - Dobies don't tolerate small dogs or cats well, so we don't consider that much of a negative, and reacting when startled from sleep is not unusual behavior for most dogs either. Obviously we aren't recommending Victor for a home with small kids or animals, also not with owners who aren't strong, as he has a reputation for being a "world class puller." Though some people frown on using prong collars, Victor's ex-owner indicated that was effective in helping to curb his pulling too hard. He is about 3 years old as of December, 2021.

Victor, a Fillmore Doberman Pinscher dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Doberman Pinscher for sale in Fillmore, or seeking a Doberman Pinscher dog from a breeder in Fillmore.
Rescues and shelter volunteers in Fillmore already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Fillmore breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Doberman Pinscher breeders who help with Doberman Pinscher rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Fillmore paves the way for another one to be saved.
