My story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Captain is a six-year-old, male, front declawed Siamese Seal Point. According to his owner, he is high maintenance, and needs a lot of attention.  Captain doesn’t like to be left alone for long periods of time.  A recent trip resulted in another couch being ruined by Captain's 'accident.'

His owner has talked to her vet about this and Captain has been treated with Prozac. They have tried everything and even have five litter boxes throughout the house. They have a 14-year-old lab that is Captain’s best friend but unfortunately, she is nearing the end of her life

Both parents work, and the children are in school with busy social lives, there is often no one home to give Captain the attention he really needs. His owner is devastated and heartbroken at the thought of rehoming him, but Captain is miserable and she knows he needs a home where he will get all the love and attention he deserves.

Captain likes to sleep with his people; sit on laps and shoulders; be picked up when he asks (by putting his paws on your leg); be petted, but he will let you know when to stop!  He enjoys drinking out of a running faucet; sitting on the counter and looking out the window.

His owner is 99.9% sure that if captain goes to a home where he will receive the attention he needs, there won’t be an issue with “accidents.”

MISR has found homes for numerous cats that had litter box issues.  All of them stopped the behavior when they were brought into a foster home. The behavior did not reoccur when they were adopted. We hope there is someone out there who will give this special cat a second chance.

This is a cat that has a strong bond with his people.  He will give you love and affection and expects and needs the same in return.

All MISR cats are spayed or neutered, FIV/FELV tested, current on rabies and distemper and all known health problems have been addressed.  The adoption fee for Captain is $150 and he is located in Alma MI. Alma is about 1.5 hours from Brighton MI. It is north of Lansing, east of Saginaw and close to Mt. Pleasant.
