My story

GIDGET is a lovable sweet pup. She loves to be petted and play with toys and all dogs. She's adventurous, friendly and affectionate with people.

Her spaying, vaccines, deworming, and microchip are included in her adoption fee. She was born Aug 26, 2021 on one of the reservations we work with.

Please do not call - EMAIL ONLY! (DesertPawsNM@gmail.com).
Our Covid/Adoption/Meetgreet policies:
Please email us to see if the pup is still available (DesertPawsNM@gmail.com) If the pet is still available we'll send you the link to the application.

After we've approved your application, there will be a phone/zoom call where we can answer your questions and discuss a time to bring the dog to your home to meet your family members and current pets. The meetgreet/adoption must include all household members and pets. Please wear masks and keep socially distanced (as will we). Everything will take place outside.

Our adoptables are fostered and we like to keep in touch with the individuals/families that adopt (please send us an update/pic of the pets once in a while). We look forward to meeting you and your pets!

Must haves:
You must live within our adoption area to adopt from us (Abq, Santa Fe, Rio Rancho, Los Alamos/White Rock areas). Please don't apply if you live in another state or outside of the stated locale.

You must have another friendly male dog in order to adopt! Please don't apply unless you have another playful young dog or are willing to adopt with one of her friends.

If you are shopping around for a dog, please let us know that.

Children must be over the age of seven.

Thank you for your understanding! We look forward to meeting you and your pets!

More about this rescue

We work with the animals at three local Indian tribes (pueblos). We have a spay/neuter called, Door2Door, we assist animals with medical emergencies, prevention, education. We rehab and re-home the unwanted, abandoned, and neglected. At the time of adoption, we bring the pet to your home to make sure all family members including all fur babies get along and all are onboard and committed to the pet. We have an adoption process and we like to stay in touch with the families for the life of the pet.
