My story

PLEASE CONTACT NUMBER ON LISTING

Pete is a very sweet and goofy German Shorthaired Pointer. He is about 3-4 years old and we have had him about 2 and a half years. He is neutered, up to date on shots and has seen a vet regularly since we have had him. He is wonderful with all animals and pretty comfortable with people once he gets to know you a little. He currently lives with 2 cats, 2 rabbits who occasionally free roam and another very small dog. We have never had any issues with him regarding other animals and he LOVES other dogs.

He is very playful indoors and loves his toys. He would do well with pretty much any family and with children as long as he is given time to adjust. Mostly, he needs a nice country setting with maybe another larger dog as a companion and to help him build some confidence.

Pete does have some anxiety issues that we have dealt with throughout his time with us and he does take a behavioral supplement to help reduce his stress and anxiety. The current medication is a daily dosage and is fairly inexpensive as we choose a more natural method as opposed to medication than may suppress his personality. But I feel that the need for anxiety medication can be readdressed with your vet if he is placed in a more suitable situation for him.

He is a wonderful dog and we are happy to have him remain with us until his new family is ready to take him home. We would love to have potential adopters meet him in his home space. You can call anytime of day at 937-971-0489. Ask for Brittney.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Adopters are required to complete an application prior to adoption, which can be found at www.gspcareohio.org. Once we receive an application, one of our volunteers will be in touch to conduct an initial phone interview, then a vet check and home visit are completed. This process will help us (and you) determine which dog is best suited for your family and activity level. When adopting, you will be required to read and sign a legally-binding adoption contract stating (among other things) that the dog will be kept as an indoor pet, receive annual exams/vaccinations, quality food, and that if the dog were ever to need rehomed he/she would be returned to GSP Care of Ohio.
