My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

** Bailey currently in a foster home, and is available for adoption! Email applications@chicagocaninerescue.org to set up a meet + greet! **

Bailey is a quirky, inquisitive, goofy and extremely lovable dog. She's been dealt a tough hand in life which has given her anxiety around new people and surroundings. However once she warms up to you, her love and excitement are boundless! She is dog friendly but she loves her humans so much that she should be an only dog. This girl is worth cracking that shy exterior and she will bring your home so much joy! She is also potty trained and can be left out alone without chewing. Content to lay by your feet while you work from home, she can entertain herself. She knows basic commands and is very smart which can sometimes make her stubborn with training, but we know that she will be successful with someone who wants to put in the work!

More about this shelter

CCRF was founded in 2001 to help find permanent, loving homes for homeless dogs in our city. In just over seven years, CCRF has saved the lives of over 2,000 dogs, cats, kittens and puppies.

CCRF now assists the animals that are the MOST vulnerable in Midwest - the dogs and cats that are slated for euthanasia because they are too old, too young, injured, have disabilities, or have simply been overlooked for too long by potential adopters at other shelters.
