My story

Skeeter was part of a litter of pups rescued from going to animal control. The owner did not want Mom or pups anymore so we stepped up to help. They had some skin issues, bellies full of parasites and one pup had a severely infected leg from an untreated fracture. But, all seemed in good health otherwise. Skeeter is very sweet, loving, melts like butter for a belly rub, he is playful, loves toys, plays fetch and has a unique personality. Skeeter is on the petite side for the breed and his shape is not that of a regular dobie. If interested in meeting this cute face email us.

More about this rescue

Our History:
Our organization was established in May of 2000 as a No-kill, 501 (c) (3) non-profit shelter. At that time animals were fostered and adopted out by word of mouth out of a donated space at a local veterinary clinic, staffed completely by volunteers. We outgrew that space quickly and moved into our own location in 2002 becoming a key resource in the community. We are located on IH-10 West in Fair Oaks Ranch, near Boerne, housing only dogs. We have made great improvements through the years and hope to increase the number of animals rescued, increase adoptions, fundraising events, and reach more communities. We provide a temporary shelter, care and rehabilitation to homeless and unwanted dogs until responsible, loving homes can be found. As a no-kill shelter, we want to help reduce the number of animals euthanized each year by educating the public on the importance of proper pet care, animal behavior and overpopulation prevention. All of our dogs are fully vaccinated, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before leaving our facility.
We are "Saving lives others have toss away".
