My story

Meet Cookie, The first things you'll notice about her is her sweet personality and her adorable ears! Cookie has won the hearts of everyone she's met. Volunteers and staff have raved about Cookies fun-loving personality and they say that she would be a great companion for anyone looking for a snuggle bug. Cookie is currently in loving foster home, and what we've learned about her is that she is the absolute sweetest girl who enjoys playing, eating, and doing everything she can to become your new best-friend. Her foster says that she is housetrained and can be left alone without incident! While much of her past is a mystery to us what we do know is this sweet girl is more than deserving of a loving home to call her own. Could that be you?

Cookie has tested positive for heartworms. HSEC gives heartworm positive dogs a course of antibiotics and steroids. They then receive monthly heartworm prevention, as any dog should. We recommend speaking to your veterinarian before adopting a heartworm positive dog.

More about this rescue

The Humane Society of Eastern Carolina's mission is to serve as a safe haven for homeless and neglected pets and act as a resource to the community. By educating the public about issues pertaining to animals, we feel that we can work towards the elimination of over breeding of dogs and cats and teach owners to be responsible pet owners. At the same time, we hope to facilitate adoption of pets to good homes so that we can allow more unwanted animals to find a temporary home with us.
