My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I am a gentle giant and also a big scaredy cat!  I was humanely trapped after months or years (no one knows) surviving on my own sneaking into a wilderness camp finding scraps and running from people.  Once caught I was placed in multiple homes (by the shelter), lost by all of them and then returned.  No one understood my need to feel safe first and fear of people of any kind.  My last placement led me here when no one could catch me.  After my third capture I  got what I learned TO LOVE.  I now welcome treats, affection, human interaction and love my dog friends.

I thrive with an outgoing dog.  When I attend events or pack walks I immediately make my fur friends my pack and need them close.  I transiftion well from one dog friend to another but will need a Solid FOREVER Soulmate owner.  It's taken me a long time to gain trust, find my love for people and affection so this change for me needs to be once.  When I know you're safe you are MY solid and I will spend all my time wanting to be with you. I LOVE walking on a leash.  Despite my enormitiy I am a mouse on the line (unless something scares me).  I am ready to retire and become someone's forever.

It's important that my new home be prepared to be patient, let me get to know them, love me until I do and keep me safe with no new changes.  It's a big ask but certainly someone out there has a dog needing a friend and a permanent plan that does not involve moves or a need to change once I move in.

Some things to know about me
-noise sensitive (loud noises, squeak toys)
-has no idea how large he is and wants to curl in your lap
-doesn’t like his feet touched and will avoid it at all cost
-loves to share his toys and crate space with his friends
-watches other dogs in his run to see how brave he needs to be with new people
-food motivated
-not overly destructive with his toys (or if he is, he blames it on the other dogs )
-walks really well on leash
-Prefers to be a “homebody”.

Flight Risk: do not leave unattended in a yard, crate training is a must when you are gone, tight grip on the leash is a must on adventures. Must be aware of open doors and windows

More about this rescue

We are an organization founded to assist owners with missing pets through coaching, field work and humane trapping. This extends to securing street strays who we exit when no owner comes forward. We rehab and evaluate each dog for an appropriate fit for adoption.
