My story

My name is Heidi and I am a 3 year old chihuahua mix. My favorite thing to do is play fetch! My foster mommy says that I am extremely active and playful. I love to be with my people giving and getting love and attention. I take time to warm up to new people and really need to work on social skills. I am in training now to work on this. We would like for my adopter to continue taking me to training classes. I am housebroken, crate trained and I do well on a leash. I am leery of new dogs when I first meet them. Due to my nervous nature when meeting new people, I CANNOT go to a home with children.

Why adoption is a great option

Heidi, a Va Beach Chihuahua/Mixed Breed (Small) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua/Mixed Breed (Small) for sale in Va Beach, or seeking a Chihuahua/Mixed Breed (Small) dog from a breeder in Va Beach.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Va Beach already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Va Beach breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua/Mixed Breed (Small) breeders who help with Chihuahua/Mixed Breed (Small) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Va Beach paves the way for another one to be saved.
