Tommy was in the Wichita Animal Shelter when he tested positive for parvovirus. Beauties and Beasts immediately pulled him from the shelter and took him to the vet to be treated and as soon as he was better, he started his recovery in foster care. He has now been neutered and is clear of parvo restrictions. Tommy is a bit extra in his play style and may be too much for some dogs. He does great with the female young playful dog and the bossy female dog in the home as well as the 100 lb passive male dog in the home. He has also enjoyed the puppies and smaller dogs that have come through our home these last few months. He also lives with a small 13 lb dog and has learned to respect her boundaries. He will need a little guidance at first but he lives with several dogs and has been able to become friends with visiting dogs as well.
Tommy has been wonderful with kids at events. He responds to correction very well. He tends to jump up when he plays if overstimulated but with correction, he is a quick learner. He doesn't seem interested in jumping the fence.
Tommy loves his human and is very attached to his foster. He loves to play fetch or just to play in general but also does well just being near you and chilling out. He is quite the snuggler. He has a beautiful chocolate coat that is super soft, a thick squishy neck and is very affectionate. He always looks at you with those big puppy dog eyes letting you know just how much you mean to him. Don't miss out on the love this kid has to offer.

Once you submit an application we will do a vet check to ensure your current animals (if any) are up to date on all shots and are fixed.

For us, the adoption process begins the day we take a dog or cat into our rescue. It’s a huge responsibility, taking in a lost soul and promising them a happy life, but we are pretty proud of the forever families we’ve helped create because our adoption process is so thorough.
The first step in adopting is to fill out the adoption application. This helps our volunteers understand what kind of new friend you are looking for, and allows us to identify any issues that would prevent us being able to place certain animals in certain homes. For example, breed restrictions in your town or apartment complex, etc…
The Beauties will conduct a vet check to make sure the pets you currently have are all up-to-date on vaccinations and spayed or neutered. We will also contact you to set up a home visit, where we can make sure that the home you have meets the needs of the animal you are interested in. Example: fence height for dogs who are jumpers, stairs for dogs who have mobility challenges, etc… We try to troubleshoot any potential problem areas and offer friendly advise so that our ultimate goal, a forever happy match, can be achieved.
After the application process is complete, the real fun begins! It’s time for Meet-N-Greets! We have a professional dog trainer on our board of directors, and we can schedule her assistance in helping you with dog-to-dog introductions while you are searching for your new family member. It’s amazing how often the existing family pet has a little something to say about who they want to spend time with and having a pro help out makes the potential for a successful intro go through the woof! We mean, roof!
