Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Chewy is a 3.5 year old purebred Australian Shepherd.
Overall he is a wonderful dog who brings lots of joy and laughs to our everyday lives. He loves to cuddle and get attention, treats fetching a ball like it's his job, enjoys working for treats and going on hikes and trips to the dog park.
However, he struggles with some behavioral challenges that have led us to make the heartbreaking decision to rehome him. Despite extensive work with a professional trainer, Chewy struggles with resource guarding and fear aggression in certain situations, which lead to him lashing out (barking, lunging, snapping) and on two occasions inflicting minor bites, once to me (owner) and once to a young child. These are rare occasions, but because we are hoping to have children of our own soon, we do not feel that it is safe for him to remain in our home.
We believe Chewy would be happiest as a single dog in a child-free home with outdoor space to run and play and a committed owner.
