Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Lacey is being fostered in Illinios.
Lacey is a healthy, playful, well-behaved girl. She greets everyone she meets with kisses and a waggily tail. This sweet little dog strikes the perfect happy medium. She is cuddly and affectionate, but not needy; communicative, but not a barker; playful, but not hyper. She loves to play a gentle tug of war with her soft toys, enjoy the scents of the outdoors on 20-30 minute walks, but is also very content lying on her human’s lap watching television.
Lacey has thick cataracts and doesn’t see worth a darn, but she uses her hearing and sense of smell to navigate beautifully. She moves at a moderate pace, so that when she does bump into something it is a gentle nudge and she just redirects her path. In only a few weeks she showed that she can manage free reign of the house, but she is always on leash outdoors. If she had a fenced in yard with minimal obstacles, she undoubtedly would learn to navigate that as well.
She is very smart and treat motivated. She knows the commands sit and stay and some human words like “potty”. She has her own dog words for potty as well. She doesn’t bark, but starts with a little whimper and adds a little grumble language when she has to go out. She knows where the door is and has not had a single accident in her foster home. She sleeps cozily through the night and is an absolutely perfect little dog.
BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.
