My story

Meet Sarasota!
- Behaves well with children and other dogs
- Loves playing with toys and will hand them over with no problem.
- Likes sleeping on the bed with her favorite person and four-legged siblings.
- She's a bit timid when she first meets new people and new dogs but she warms up with lots of cuddles and patience.
- She tries to open doors when she's ready for outside time but likes to be acompanied by her favorite person in case her dog siblings start getting rowdy as it makes her anxious.
- She doesn't have any problems with mealtime as long as her space is respected by the other dogs around her.
- Sarasota does go potty outdoors as long as you can give her the time she needs. She likes to go potty twice in a row and if you're not patient she'll go outside and inside but she's doing her best!
- Sarasota has not been around cats.
- She's a very sweet and loving girl to anyone who will be patient, loving, and understanding of her.

More about this shelter

Palm Valley Animal Society (PVAS) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit animal welfare organization operating out of two facilities in Edinburg, TX and providing services for six municipalities in Hidalgo County, as well as the county at-large. PVAS serves approximately 30,000 animals on behalf of 750,000 residents each year, and is working to reach “no-kill” status, broadly defined as saving 90% or more of the animals that enter our care.

PVAS accepts all stray and surrendered companion animals regardless of age, health, or breed, making us the largest intake facility in Hidalgo County, and one of the largest intake facilities in the nation.
