Charlie is a good boy and is happiest when he is outside either laying in the sun and his favorite is playing fetch. He loves toys.
Charlie belonged to an older lady that ended up in Hospice. He wasn't socialized well but is doing much better here. He growled and lunged at first, but now even plays with some of the dogs here.
He requires a fenced yard, and a good supply of balls, and maybe a chuck it! :)
He will whine when he wants to come in or go to the door when wants to go out. He isn't a huge fan of the crate but does settle down. He is house trained. Walks great on leash except when approaching dogs. He needs to be told no and continue to work on this.
Age: 3
Weight: 28
Temperament: Gets along with people, but leash reactive/requires slow intro with dogs
Training: Housetrained, doesn't like crate
Vetting: Spay/neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm neg

To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit. We are 100% donation-funded and our fees are equivalent to (or less than) the cost to fully vet a new dog yourself. Please expect an adoption fee of $300; some of our urgent or long-term dogs have discounted fees.
