Here's what the humans have to say about me:
**Courtesy Post**. This handsome gentleman is Parker. He is about 12 years old and is a unique 10 pound old man with some hilarious quirks. He gets up every day at 7am and prefers to be in bed by 8pm. If you aren't following his schedule, he will absolutely let you know with some displeased grunts and the funniest "WOO! WOO! WOO!" bark. Parker loves to play fetch and tug with his favorite people, and he's pretty sure every toy belongs to him. Also, your food belongs to him and any other food that he finds out about.
Parker came to Austin Bulldog Rescue in an extreme state of neglect. He suffered trauma to his spine at some point that resulted in a collapsed disc that is not resolvable with surgery. He is on daily pain medication to manage, and moves a little differently, but he certainly doesn't let this slow him down! Parker walks like a baby giraffe or a newborn deer and can still zoom around at full speed, especially if he's after a ball. He would do best in a home where he does not have to navigate stairs and without children who may knock him off balance. Due to his age and condition when he arrived, Austin Bulldog Rescue and his vet made the choice to not neuter Parker, but he is fully vaccinated and heartworm negative.
Parker is currently living in a home with two big dogs (who he bosses around), but he prefers small dogs. And, believe it or not, he does good with cats! In fact, he and the resident cats are partners in crime and can frequently be found in the kitchen breaking into the pantry or working together to get food off the counter. He will need a securely fenced in backyard to snoop around in. It would be great if his new parents were home for at least part of the day. Adoption applicants will have an initial phone interview and virtual home visit via Zoom, due to COVID precautions. The first step, and to be considered, is to fill out the online adoption application at https://austinbulldogrescue.com/dog/parker/ Parker’s adoption fee is $150. In order to adopt him you will need to travel to Bastrop, Texas to get him. Contact for questions about Parker: applications@austinbulldogrescue.com
