My story

Maggie is ready to find her forever home!

She came to us from a local animal control, and was pretty much of a medical mess. We took care of her medical needs, including doing double TECA surgery because of chronic ear infections that had gone untreated for years, resulting in narrowing and calcification of her ear canals.

Maggie is deaf, but so much more comfortable following the surgery!

She does have some neurological deficits post surgery - she is a bit unbalanced on her feet. She doesn't let it phase her in the least, though!

Maggie needs to be an only pet. She loves people but isn't a fan of other dogs or cats. She will do best in a home with older children or an adult home.

She would love a family where someone is home at least part of the day - she is happiest when she is with her people.

We will give preference to families with experience with bully breed dogs and dogs with special needs, especially deaf dogs.

Maggie is a loving girl who is totally deserving of the best home ever!

We want to set her up for success, and will want to do a short foster-to-adopt placement to make sure the match is the right one.

Maggie is available for adoption through both our regular adoption program and our Seniors for Seniors program.

Additional adoption info

Anyone wanting to adopt one of our animals must first fill out an application. We check personal, vet, and landlord references (if applicable). If the application is approved we will schedule a home visit by one of our volunteers. Once you are fully approved to adopt, we will schedule a meet and greet with the dog in our rescue, and all family members and other pets. If everyone agrees, you will be able to adopt. We do not transport our dogs out of state. Anyone living outside of CT within the New England area will need to come to CT for the meet and greet and adoption, once an application is approved. We do not adopt our dogs to families living outside of the New England area.

More about this rescue

We are an animal rescue working to save animals from bad situations, care for any medical or behavioral needs, and place them in wonderful forever homes. Dogs in our rescue mainly come from municipal pounds within CT. We also take owner surrenders and occasionally will take dogs from outside of CT, if we have room in the rescue and the dog's or cat's situation is urgent. We are approved as a 501c3 public charity by the Internal Revenue Service, are a tax exempt public charity with the State of CT, and hold an active CT animal import license.
