My story

Leia has come such a long way! She came to us as a small kitten with her two siblings. They had been found in an abandoned house. Leia was very scared and would run to try to get away from her caretakers. With alot of patience and persistence the staff at mghs has been able to draw miss lai lai out of her shell. She now spends her days being spoiled. She has quickly become a shelter favorite. She can often be found on the cat tree or in her hut on the main floor. Even though Leia has gotten comfortable with her caretakers she is still very shy around new people. She would need time to warm up to you. Leia does well with other cats. She can be very sweet and playful.

Go meet their pets

Our open hours are: Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday from Noon until 5 PM. We also will open at other times by appointment. Just call us and we'll try to arrange a more convenient time for you to stop by. To find us, go to the Greene County Landfill, just before the entrance, turn left toward the park, and we're the first building on the left. You can also find us with some of our cats, every other Saturday at the Ruckersville Tractor Supply!
