My story

Stella is a chunky, cute and quirky kitty with all the love to give. She is about six years old, and of course spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and FIV tested negative. She is good with cats and dogs, and she knows what she wants and when she wants it! She loves to cuddle on her own terms, and that deep, loud purr could win over the grumpiest of souls. She’ll also let you know when she’s done being picked up and loved on with an “Meow!” of defiance. Her favorite thing is wet food, and her favorite activity is licking crinkly plastic, but overall she’s a fairly lazy lady, but I think she would love some crinkly toys! Sound like a good fit?

Meet the Pet

You’re welcome to schedule a meet and greet at our facility.

Additional adoption info

Our adoption fees are between $50-$150 for cats and dogs depending on their age and how much vetting they have had (shots are given based on age, all are spayed or neutered after 6 months of age). If they have not been spayed/neutered or received a rabies vaccine due to age, you are required to sign a time sensitive contract stating the procedures will be done. We do not allow animals to be strictly outside animals, cats cannot be declawed, if you are renting we require a letter from your landlord stating he/she is aware of the new pet before the adoption can be final. Other animals in the home must be up to date on vaccines and altered.

More about this rescue

My name is Dava and I am the founder of this organization. I originally was a volunteer at the Jacksonville Animal Shelter in Jacksonville, Texas. They were never able to help with the many abandoned and neglected dogs and cats in the county since they were only contracted with the city. So I stepped in to help. We rescue anywhere between 10-20 animals in Cherokee County every month. There are many more in need of help still and the need for a rescue in this area was large.
