My story

Victor 8 year old Male

He is a happy-go-lucky kind of guy. He is used to being an outside dog he could live inside or out. He is not a fan of the leash so no leads or runners. He loves belly rubs and scratches. His needs are minimal. He is actually a very easy dog. He would love a porch to watch the world go by. Untested with dogs, cats, kids.

Out of respect for our foster family’s time and privacy we do NOT arrange meet and greets without an application on file. Therefore the first step in our adoption process it to please fill out the form at the bottom of the page. We have one form that is printable and one that is a fillable form. Our agency is ran by volunteers. We will get back to you as quickly as we can. If you have specific questions please email us at graingerhumane@yahoo.com. We do not have a shelter location with regular hours. All of our dogs are in foster homes. All dogs are fully vaccinated and spayed or neutered before adoption.

More about this rescue

The Grainger County Humane Society (GCHS) is a nonprofit 501 (c) (3) organization formed in May 2001. Other than the Animal Friendly License Plate Grant, we do not receive any funds from the county, state, or federal government, or any other humane organizations such as the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) and the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS). Our efforts are financed solely by non-profit and corporate grants, donations from individuals and businesses, adoption fees, and money acquired at local festivals and fundraisers. All our efforts, including animal rescue and care, are accomplished by a very small group of dedicated unpaid volunteers.
