My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Beast! Beast is not only ready for a new family but he is also ready for a new name because Beast certainly does not fit this guy. Beast found his way to HART when several dogs were rescued from a property after the tornadoes a few months ago. Beast didn't start in the best situation as he and others were being used to breed and sell puppies. Then he and his siblings were literally tossed around as the tornadoes ripped through their home.

Those days are over and Beast is making great progress. He loves to attend doggie day care and play fetch with his person. Beast walks decently on a leash but is strong and pulls. Beast has a favorite spot and that is curling up on the couch.

Once a dog that ran and hid from human touch, Beast is learning that humans are not all that bad. He has made great strides in our boarding facility and our volunteers are truly amazed with his progress. He likes to sit back and observe the world around him and definitely now loves to pose for the camera.

Beast is about one year old and about fifty pounds. We believe Beast to be a possible lab, smaller Madrid mix. He is good with other dogs and ignores cats. Beast will need a patient adopter who will continue to let him flourish in the home and teach him to trust.

All HART dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on all vaccines, including bordatella and rabies. They are heartworm tested and on preventative for heartworm, fleas, and ticks. If you are interested in any of our pets, you must complete an online dog adoption application at www.rescueAhart.org . The application will put you in touch with this wonderful dog's foster family so you can schedule a meeting.
