Benji the Italian Greyhound mix

Benji is one of two brothers to Ruby and Pumpmpkin-bonded sisters.

the 4 siblings were rescued from a Flagstaff Human Society, a place that is no-kill but had become overrun with dogs and was threatening the ability to remain a No-kill facility. 28 dogs were pulled and brought to Washington to release some pressure for the shelter. Benji was supposed to be with his siblings on that trip but became ill (Pneumonia) and was unable to travel. His foster flew all the way to flagstaff when he was recovered and got him out.

From Benjis: foster

Benji
Benji is a tender sweetheart who is still recovering from past trauma and is a little afraid of new circumstances.  He is affectionate and will gently paw at you to keep up the head massages and back scratches. Benji is a fast walker and could accompany a jogger on small distances.  He has great energy and also loves his downtime so he can cuddle up next to you on the couch. He loves his toys and loves his fosters. Benji needs an adult only home.
Benji ~15lbs
Benji  has been transitioned to a human-grade diet that avoids kibble in place of a healthy canine-specific feeding regimen. We will educate his adopters on proper diet and nutrition for her and her new buddies. To apply to adopt Benji he has a $595.00 adoption fee.  All monies will be recycled to cover medical care and rescue more dogs. Please fill out the online application using this link.  Please be thorough in your answers and expound whenever possible so we get to know you and can make the best match.     HTTP://rompinpawsrescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/

Puppies will receive all 3 sets of puppy shots and their rabies at 4 months. Adopting a Dog requires a lot of work and is a commitment! Adoption: If you think you have room in your home and heart for a new rescue dog, please go to our website: http://rompinpawsrescue.rescuegroups.org/ Healthy dogs: As a rescue saving dogs from starvation, Neglect and Emaciation, RPR focus's on feeding each rescue animal the healthiest dog food made of Human Grade ingredients to help them recover from their stress and starvation. We share this with our adopters and encourage them to keep their new pet on the same foods for optimal health and a long life. OUR REQUIREMENTS FOR DOG ADOPTION: 1) These dogs are not livestock dogs. They must be family pets that are allowed inside the home. 2) We give preference to applicants with prior small breed knowledge/ experiences. 3) Secure visible fencing required. 4) You must have plan in place to socialize your dog properly. 5) Please do NOT write us and ask if this dog is available. If it is posted, it is available. BUT, we may be working other applications that came in before yours. If so, by the time you are approved, the dog may not be available. 8) The FASTEST way to be considered for a dog is to fill out an application. If you write, it will delay your application and put you to the back of the line. All the persons processing applications are volunteers that have their own dogs, families and job responsibilities. We do our best to get applications done quickly but applications There you will find more information and be able to fill out an adoption application. We bring dogs from up from California. so there are transportation costs for each dog. Then the dogs need to be spayed/neutered, vaccinated, groomed, and sometimes boarded if we can't place them in a foster, or set up at the adoption facility in Arlington, Also, we don't receive any grants so we rely solely on adoption fees and donations to fund all of our rescue efforts. Finally, we take on "Special Needs" dogs with high vet costs and pay for their procedures with 'leftover' funds from adoption fees for healthier dogs. Our passion is to bring people and pets together. Countless dogs are without homes and in need of assistance. These are dogs who would make wonderful and faithful companions if only they could connect with the right person or family. We have made it our mission to help them do this. At the same time we hope to enrich the lives of those who adopt them. We strive to match our dog's needs and personality to the preferences and requirements of each potential adopter. We believe this is a crucial component of the process and will help ensure a life-long relationship. Our primary focus is on small mixed breeds, moms and puppies of small and large breeds, although we do occasionally take in larger dogs. We work collaboratively with shelters, other rescue groups, and individuals, both locally and in California.. RPR was established in April, 2015. we placed 400 dogs in our first year of operation in a small facility on Acreage in Arlington Washington. We have a few local fosters and seek to increase our foster base in order to save more lives Come Meet Our Pets... We have a home based operation on Acreage in Arlington and Our dogs are placed in foster homes around the greater Seattle/I-5 Corridor North to Arlington area where they receive socialization and training while they await adoption. Our Adoption Process... Since we have a small facility on gated acreage, we are unable to stay open to anyone who wishes to come visit. To facilitate successful adoptions we ask interested people and families to fill out an application for the dog or dogs they may be interested in. We screen the applications and then speak with the interested party by phone. If it looks like a good match can be made, we pre-approve the applicant and set an appointment for a meet and greet with the dogs at out facility or with the fosters who have the dogs in their care. we continue the interview in person and make sure the dog and family are a good fit.

Go meet their pets

Since many of our rescues reside with fosters. applicants will meet the potential new dog on an appointment basis either at the Arlington facility or with the adopter.

More about this rescue

I began pet rescue at the young age of 11 when I attended Junior High school across the street from a high kill shelter that employed a decompression chamber to kill animals. I never stopped. I have worked with many other rescues and rescued on a small basis. Because of the awareness in Wa. state and the huge base of volunteers and animal lovers in this state, I have endeavored to do this full time in order to save many more lives
