Here's what the humans have to say about me:
What can we say about Brussel Sprout? This guy is a hoot! Sprout came to us through our TNR partnership with Rugby’s Rescues when he was found as a stray, un-neutered and living outdoors in Baltimore County. Immediately after strolling into the trap, he let us know that he was ready for a different life. We were told that he was “a big ole’ tom cat with sad eyes” by his trapper and they were not wrong. Sprout is a gentle giant at 13 pounds who has likely lived the majority of his 3 to 5 years of life outside battling for resources on the street and communicated through his beautiful gaze that he was just done. As a result of that hard knox kinda life, Sprout is FIV+ which we like to say is really no big deal. He is currently living in a home with other kitties who do not share his diagnosis. FIV is far from a death sentence, a tragedy or even a necessary reason for positive cats to live in isolation as long as they are friendly and sociable. Brussel Sprout is healthy and thriving, he is very well mannered with other kitties and would be safe to socialize with an FIV- friend who also did well with other cats. He is expected to live a normal, healthy life span and would make a wonderful friend and companion. Sprout enjoys comfy beds, boxes, showing off his tummy (although he prefers you do not touch it) and getting head rubs. Treats, wet food, toys and sunny days aren’t bad either. He could do without being outside ever again as this poses a risk to his immune system as an FIV+ kitty, and as mentioned, he is, just done. with. that. If this lovely, saucy boy seems like the purrfect fit for you, please apply at www.stepuptosave.org/adopt and we will be in touch!
