My story

Hi! My name is Captain Morgan and I am a 2-4 yr old Aussie mix. Aren't my freckles cute? I was picked up as a stray on the Navajo reservation and spent several months in the shelter before I was transferred to Herding Haven rescue. I now live in a foster home and am learning the ins and outs of being a "house dog". I really like it! I can be shy and somewhat nervous when I first meet new people; but, once I warm up and trust you, I am the sweetest, most loyal pup. I would do best in a calm, quiet house without children. I currently live with several other dogs and don't mind them too much. But, I would really love a home where I am the only dog and can be the king of my castle. I have moderate energy level; a daily 30-60 minute walk is all I need. I do really enjoy being outside, so a fenced yard is a must for my furever home. I am crate-trained, house broken, neutered and up-to-date on my vaccinations. If you are interested in meeting me, please contact

More about this rescue

Herding Haven is a non-profit (501c3) organization that rescues and rehabilitates dogs with special needs so that they may become more adoptable. The dogs in our rescue come largely from shelters where they have been deemed "unadoptable" to the general public due to physical disabilities, medical problems and/or behavioral issues. Herding Haven provides medical care, physical and behavioral rehabilitation and then works to very hard to find the dogs the perfect forever home.
