It’s the little surprises that come out of nowhere when you least expect it that immediately find a warm place in your heart…

Meet Silverado. While feeding my neighborhood kitties in the early hours of a cold winter morning, this charming little guy came out of the darkness of a briar patch and introduced himself to me.

Once Silverado approached I easily picked him up and immediately I could hear him purring. I was not expecting to find this very friendly little guy, I didn’t have a carrier to transport him home. So, I took a chance and simply put him in the cab of my truck. From there, he walked around the interior for a few minutes and finally came to rest on the passenger seat for the ride home. He was very comfortable and relaxed this whole time. It’s like Silverado
- and now he is ready to find his forever home
Characteristics:
- Playful as many kittens his age
- Sticks close to me yet is social with other cats he just met
- Loves to sit on my chest taking a nap
- Curious. Likes to investigate confined areas
- Beautiful amber eyes
- Healthy. Beautiful soft coat.

And yes…. He like to be around me. If I go far or out the door, he looks around and meows.
In addition to helping with the dryer, he’s now helping checking out the contents of the refrigerator. He jumps on the ledge and looks in. Have to be careful closing the door

He has extremely soft fur and his markings are very unique. He has a beautiful white chest and paws. The top of his body begins with solid silver then blends into very subtle tabby stripes that flow to his bushy tail

He likes the activities in the kitchen. He’ll rub between my feet letting me know he is there. When the dishwasher or refrigerator door is open, he likes to take a peak inside

He does not venture far from me and likes some attention. He’ll follow me throughout the house as I go from room to room.

When I step outside door, he stands there waiting and if I am gone too long I can hear him meow

He enjoys to be picked up and pet and loves it when I sit down on the couch. He’ll come over and make himself comfortable and sit all curled up on my chest for a quick nap.

APPLICATION:
Please contact us and we will send you an online application. A response is usually given with 24-48 hrs if we think it's a potentially good match.

INTERVIEW:
An adoption counselor will contact you via phone to answer any questions and if it seems like a good fit, arrangements will be made for all parties to meet with desired cat(s) at a mutually agreeable time.

APPROVAL:
If adoption is approved, a contract and adoption fee to cover veterinary costs will be required. You will be given medical files.

TIME FRAME:
Based on volunteer availability, it is possible for all adoption steps to be completed the same day, however, it is not guaranteed. Please note that occasionally a home check, vet records/references, etc may be required and multiple people may be interested in the same cat(s) so additional time may be necessary. You are also welcome to get the kitten an appointment with your own veterinarian at your expense prior to adoption, just be aware that may delay the adoption by several days.

WHY:
Our adoption vetting process ensures a proper feline fit for your family. You may be a wonderful pet owner but may not be the best fit for a particular cat, or other extenuating circumstances. Also, YOU may know you are a good pet owner, but we don't. We exist because too many people view pet ownership as casual or disposable so we want to be sure the best match is made for the next 15-20 years. Your patience and understanding as to where we are coming from are much appreciated. Our adoption process is also reflective of the extremely thorough medical protocol our kittens receive.
