My story

Gorgeous Hastings!
This stunningly handsome fellow has been here for quite awhile now - learning to trust and live with human houses rules. Hastings came from outside - matted and grimy, he was looking into peoples windows and sitting in their porches.
After arriving he was taken to be neutered and brushed out.
At first, he would watch cautiosly while I brought food...
Then he would come closer when I brought food...
Then he would let me pet him while he was eating...
Hastings still doesn't particularly like being picked up, but he will allow it.
He is not yet a lap cat, but he does like humans and he is great with other cats. His ideal place would be a quiet home with one or two other cats to hang out and play with, and a human or two who would be happy to admire his gorgeous face but not demand he be up on the sofa or carried in arms - at least not yet...

Why adoption is a great option

Hastings, a Caledon Himalayan cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Himalayan for sale in Caledon, or seeking a Himalayan cat from a breeder in Caledon.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Caledon already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Caledon breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Himalayan breeders who help with Himalayan rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Caledon paves the way for another one to be saved.
