My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, my name is Iris and I arrived on a transport back in October of ’21. I was in terrible condition and had clearly had a hard life! Severely emaciated, teeth are almost completely gone, full of infected bite wounds, and heartworm positive. Fast forward I look and act like a different dog. I have blossomed in my loving foster home. I have been loved, spoiled, and nursed back to health. I am spayed, have finished up my heartworm treatments and I am ready to find a soft place to lay my head, my furever home.
My foster family had hoped to adopt me but I don't do well with other dogs and it’s clear I really should be the only dog in my forever home. No one is sure what happened in my past, but based on all the old bite scars on my body, my fosters and CDR think it’s time for me to be able to fully relax and know I am someplace safe with no other dogs to worry about.
My foster says I am crate trained, housebroken, and a well-behaved girl. Quick movements can make me nervous so I would do better in a home with no children.  CDR and the foster family think my perfect home would be in a quiet neighborhood with a backyard and maybe even a privacy fence. They think giving me the security of a privacy fence will help me settle in and feel safe. If you would like to meet me, please fill out a preadoption application and a CDR volunteer will get back to you just as quick as they can!
Cuddles and kisses-Iris
