My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This dog is being fostered in Dallas TX and must be adopted within the Dallas or in the North / Central Texas area.

NAME: Moca
GENDER: Female (Spayed)
AGE: About 1 year old
WEIGHT: About 8 Pounds
DOGS/CATS: Good with other small dogs, Unknown with cats
CHILDREN: Recommend an all adult home

Meet our adorable little foster – Moca.

This sweet girl found herself homeless and pregnant on the streets of Lawton Oklahoma when a good Samaritan found her and contacted CRT in October 2021. This good Samaritan agreed to see her through her pregnancy, and we agreed to take her into our program. Moca had four puppies and once they were weened, we transported Moca to Dallas and brought her into our program.

Moca was very shy when she first arrived. And who can blame her – her humans failed her and dumped her in the country to fend for herself when she was pregnant. But with the safety and love of her foster home, this girl is gaining confidence and really making progress. She has learned to trust and love her humans. Her personality is silly and fun. She enjoys being in the same room as her family and has now begun crawling up on the couch and sitting next to her Foster Mom and Dad. She enjoys a gentle belly rub. Over time, we see potential for a lap dog. But we believe she needs a patient, experienced family who will let her adjust at her own pace.

Moca gets along great with the other small dogs in her foster home. She loves to play with them and loves snuggling in a doggie bed for naps with her siblings. Moca also loves to play with toys.

Moca is completely potty trained and started using the doggie door immediately to go outside. She loves to run outside and chase squirrels and on sunny days, she will sunbathe in the flower beds. She is loving life right now. At night she likes to snuggle with one of the dogs in her foster home and will sleep in a crate or on the bed if you let her. It would be best if she was in a home with another buddy to play with.

Moca is about 1 year old and a perfect 8 pounds. She has long brown hair with tan highlights. Our vet thinks she is a mix of Chihuahua and Terrier. When she looks at you with her big brown eyes, you will melt. And she has the cutest button nose. She is a quiet girl, not a barker. We believe she would do best in an all adult home. She is not apartment appropriate – she is not leash trained at this time. The perfect home would be with an experienced, patient family who could continue to let her grow, mature and feel love. She is going to be a great family member – she will just need someone with a loving heart. We are looking for a true love connection with her adopters so she can have the forever family she deserves.
