My story

This is the face of a survivor - she had 3 strikes against her. First, Delilah was surrendered with her two young pups to animal control at one of the worst times of the year - entering Christmas holidays, where surrender rate is high, Secondly her breed makes it hard to get out of animal control. And lastly it wasn't long before mom and pups broke with the dreaded parvo disease. But she is 'strong'. She made it. She deserves a home. Now recovered, Delilah is current on vaccinations, heartworm negative and will be scheduled for her spay as soon as possible.

More about this rescue

Rainbow Animal Rescue is a no-kill rescue based in North Carolina. We are a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) rescue organization. We started our rescue in 2004 in an effort to help the many unwanted, abandoned and mistreated animals in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina and the surrounding areas. We foster pets in our homes until we can find loving 'forever' homes for them. In an effort to aid more animals we recently entered into an agreement with Halifax County to operate a Rescue and Adoption Center. We now have a small shelter with 19 indoor / outdoor kennels, a puppy room, and exercise yards.
