Age: 5 years
Size: ~ 5 lbs
Estimated breed: Chihuahua mix
Poor Winter was left overnight in an outdoor kennel at a rural shelter in Maryland with no information at all. We will never understand how someone could leave this tiny sweet girl all by herself at a shelter and not think twice about it. She was infested with fleas and missing fur from the infestation. It is clear she did not live an easy life before finding herself at the shelter.
Winter is now safe and recovering from her ordeal in a foster home, and she couldn't be happier about it! She is 100% a typical chihuahua. She quickly bonds to her person and is fiercely loyal. She prefers to be carried around by her foster mom and jumps into her lap any chance she can get. She lives with multiple other small dogs and does great with them all. She has a typical chihuahua attitude and would benefit with an owner who understands and embraces the quirks of chihuahuas. Because of her small size, we recommend Winter go to a home with no children or with older, considerate teenagers only. She has not been officially tested with cats, but we anticipate she would not have a problem living with a cat.
