My story

Sweet Eddie is still hoping for his happily ever after. Eddie has not had the easiest life, and though he looks to be an old man, the vet aged him at around 5. Eddie came from a hoarding situation where every day in his short life he had to worry about if he was going to eat. He didnt get the human touch or companionship he so deserved, and he lived outside in a barn his entire life. That all changed when he was rescued and went into foster care. He has spent the last 4 months learning to trust, loving snuggles, sleeping under the covers of his foster moms bed, eating good nutritious food every day and learning how to be a house dog. He has truly blossomed in his foster home and has become the sweetest most loving dog! Eddie is a low energy pup that wants nothing more than a couch or a lap to hang out on and to be petted and loved all day. With the life he has had up to this point Eddie will have some quirks that may stick with him for quite some time. He is a barker as most chis are, he barks and hides from strangers, and can take some time to warm up. He does also like to mark areas that are new to him, though his housebreaking is coming along nicely! Eddie will regress in a new home and will need lots of love and patience with his timidness and his marking tendencies, but we are confident if he is given the chance he will win your heart over as he has so much love to give!! He does come in with a belly band to discourage the marking inside. Eddie has been fostered in a home with lots of other dogs and cats and with slow introductions gets along with everyone. He is neutered, microchipped, dewormed and up to date on his vaccines including rabies. He has received flea treatment and has had his teeth cleaned. If you are interested in Eddie please fill out an application https://ozziespoundpuppies.org/online-application/ Adoption fee is $300

More about this rescue

Ozzies Pound Puppies is an all breed dog rescue based in Concord, CA. Our volunteers are committed to rescuing unwanted and abandoned dogs from the public and from shelters. Ozzies is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that receives no government funds. You can help make a difference for a shelter dog by fostering, adopting, volunteering or donating. WHAT WE DO Every day, hundreds of dogs are euthanized in shelters across the nation. City and county shelters are overrun with stray and surrendered dogs and have run out of space, this is why they have to euthanize dogs. Dogs are only given a short time to be adopted and then they get put down. Our Rescue will take in dogs that have run out of time at the shelter and find homes for them, thus freeing up shelter space and finding adoptable dogs a new family.
