My story

Buttercup ended up a the shelter when a couple took 3 dogs to a vet clinic, saying they had found them, and asking that they be checked for a microchip. While the dogs were taken to the back to be checked, the couple left and so animal control was called.
We aren't sure if they were found, or abandoned, but those days are over for this perfectly-sized young girl! Buttercup is a compact 33 pounds of what could be rat terrier, carolina dog, and a little chihuahua thrown in for interest!
Buttercup is smart, and spunky, and sure to be a lot of fun! We don't often get dogs this compactly sized, so if less-than-medium-sized is your perfect size, you may want to get an application in early for this sweet girl! Buttercup can be adopted at any time, and will be available to go to her new home when she graduates in mid-April.

Why adoption is a great option

Buttercup, a Atlanta Rat Terrier/Carolina Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rat Terrier/Carolina Dog for sale in Atlanta, or seeking a Rat Terrier/Carolina Dog dog from a breeder in Atlanta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Atlanta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Atlanta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rat Terrier/Carolina Dog breeders who help with Rat Terrier/Carolina Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Atlanta paves the way for another one to be saved.
