My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MEET TAWNY ~ Tawny is the sweetest girl, she loves all humans and is very loyal. She would be great with either a single person or a family. She’s good on a leash and her recall is good. Tawny came to us looking pretty defeated, skinny and hungry, very loving and eager to please. We reached out to the County shelter and community with photos of Tawny, but never claimed. We’ve taken her to the vet a few times for exams due to her condition on arrival.
She has been recently spayed and up to date on her vaccines. She’s put on weight and looks great!
Tawny appears not to have had the best start in life, she’s about 2 years old. Someone did a number on her ears. You can’t see it in front but her ears were cut to try to make them stand which didn’t work and are a little jagged on the backside. That had to hurt l something fierce, yet she’s still sweet as can be. The bad ear job doesn’t affect her looks negatively. Her tail is docked and appears breed standard.
Tawny is very easy going for her breed. She can chill on the couch with you or go on a run, she’s very in tune with her people. She’s not a fan of the crate, but will sleep in it at night without complaining. She’s a fantastic eater and loves treats.
She has proven an efficient guard dog, she has great instincts with people.
She does chase cats and is choosy about which dogs are ok to befriend. She’s great with most dogs unless the other dog is reactive then she will be also. Having one other dog of similar size and temperament would be fine with proper introductions. She would also be happy as an only child.
Other than what we stated above about being choosy with dogs and chasing cats if presented with an opportunity, Tawny has some natural ability to be a service type dog. Obviously she would need training and have to overcome selective reactivity to certain animals, our point being she is truly a fantastic companion and can focus on human needs once comfortable with her humans.
(Please do not apply if you have cats or small animals, we want to set her up for success)
If you believe Tawny is your love match, please email us with a little information about yourselves and how Tawny would spend her days with you, to gooddogk9rescue@yahoo.com
