Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Some people march to the beat of their own drum.
Me, I dance to the plink of my own piano!
It's true, I'm not your average cat.
Playful? Absolutely!
Friendly? You bet!
Puts up with "oh, you're my squishy kitty, I want to hold you and hug you"? NOPE.
Look, we're all adults, here. And while I'm a good cat, a super fun cat, a cat who likes people and attention, I'm not anybody's "squishy wishums", okay?
I enjoy a good time! Feather on a stick? YES, PLEASE. We can play and play! But when I'm done, I'm done, right? Nothing personal, I'm just done playing and I'm going to go find something else to do. Probably by myself. Me time. Cool? Cool.
I like petting! Pet me! Yep, that's good. Oh look at the time. I have some very important business over there, right now. Staring out the window at nothing. Catch you later and you can pet me then. Probably. Or not. We'll see how my important window staring thing goes.
You want to pick me up? Ah. Well, now we're going to have a conversation. Because this girl does not do that. It's called BOUNDARIES. Look it up. Boundaries are good. They're healthy. Unless you insist on trying to pick me up and carry me around like a baby. Then they may get real uncomfortable. For you. Respect the boundaries.
So no, I'm not your average cat. I'm your ABOVE average cat. A cat who knows her own mind. A self-actualized cat. A cat who wants a meaningful relationship based on mutual love and respect.
So if you maybe know of anyone who needs a cat like me - really friendly, super playful, independent-minded, and not clingy or needy (while still being loving and fun) - can you please send them my way? Tell them to ask for Courtney - that's me!
Much appreciated! Now if you don't mind, I hear a catnip mouse calling my name...
(Courtney is 4 years old. She's spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. She's a super fun player prone to crazy goofiness, enjoys petting, and often has important business elsewhere (so may just bail on you mid-pet). It's not personal, she's just a friendly cat who expects a long-term, fun-loving, non-needy relationship. She does not do pick ups, thank you. She may do okay with other cats as long as they respect her personal space and don't get all up in her face (it's part of her "healthy boundaries" approach to life).
Courtney's adoption fee is just $70.)
Courtney has been vaccinated, wormed, spayed/neutered and tested negative for FELV/FIV which is all included in the $70 adoption fee. If you would like to adopt this cat, you must come into the shelter for a meet and greet. We are open 12-4. (Closed Mondays & Wednesdays) All cats must leave the shelter in a carrier. If you do not bring one with you, one must be purchased at the shelter if available for $5.
