Meet Elvis! Sorry....we have to say it.....Elvis has not left the building. Elvis is currently staying at Chi Town Rescue and looking for his furever home. He is a 5 year old, long legged chihuahua that looks like a deer when he runs around the play yard. Elvis is a long timer at the rescue having been there for over 2 years and it's time for him to leave the building. Elvis is a very shy dog that was not socialized in his previous situation. He is going to need an adopter that understands timid dogs and the time and patience it will take for him to warm up to a new family. But if you have that patience, Elvis is so worth it! The first time he lets you pet him feels like such a breakthrough and is so rewarding. Just look at the picture of him getting his head petted. He is such a sweetheart. He does like playing with toys and the other dogs at the rescue. Because of his long legs, Elvis can jump very high. He needs a yard with a high fence. He is going to need a quiet home with older children (12+ years old).

Adoption fees are dependent on the age and breed of the animal as well as monthly or seasonal promotions. Please inquire directly as to fee of any animal you're interested in. We do require meet & greets and adopter to be present in person and provide valid id.

More about this rescue

"Chi Town" is short for "Chihuahua Town," which is our nick-name because we found that the majority of animals we were rescuing happened to be Chihuahuas and literally have a little “town” comprised of Chihuahuas! Chihuahuas are one of the most over-bred dogs in Arizona and unfortunately many end up in need of rescue. However, we are not limited to saving just Chihuahas, we do save other breeds dependent on availability of space. Chi Town also specializes in rescuing dogs who require a little extra TLC and are at risk of euthanasia at county shelters. These dogs may not be doing well for a variety of reasons- fear, fear aggression, anxiety, or a medical issue to name a few. These are the dogs that typically have no other outlet and for which time is of the essence . After our dogs are medically cleared and/or their behavioral issues have improved, they are available for adoption.
