My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Intake Date: 22 Jan 2022 ----- Age at intake: 1.5 yr ----- Breed: Shiba Inu/Shar Pei Mix ----- Size: 43.6 lbs ----- Status: surrender at open surrender ----- Compatible with: Other dogs, children. Have not cat tested yet ----- Suitable for: home with a securely fenced yard. ----- Medical/Behavioral Needs: Old leg injury----- Additional Notes: Charles came in with 4 other dogs to our local surrender event. He was in a kennel with a dog catcher for the last several weeks outdoors in the elements 🙁 He is very sweet, and VERY happy to have a warm bed and his own food! He can be a bit intimidated by other larger male dogs but he exercises with a large group here and once they are no longer a threat to him, he is good. He has a pretty gnarly scar on his back leg and does hold it up and limp sometimes so it looks like he may have been caught in a trap or snare at some point. We will have it looked at thoroughly by the vet but it does appear to be an older injury. He looks like an older fella with many years of wisdom on that face but he is a young pup that has just seen a lot. He loves attention and affection. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If interested in meeting and potentially adopting please read the adoption requirements and complete the adoption application located at forbellessake.org. Once processed and approved a meet and greet can be scheduled and if a match an adoption is finalized at that time. FBS standard adoption fee is $175 and all dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for any known medical needs. Breeds are not guaranteed but often a best guess. Housetraining is not guaranteed but crate training is worked on with all residents. If a yard is present, a secure fence is mandatory.
