Here's what the humans have to say about me:
ROCKY ( TENNESSEE)
Rocky is a Cairn Terrier mix who is estimated to be 6 years old, he weighs 9 pounds and is being fostered near Ashland City, TN.
Rocky is a great dog!! He has lots of love to give, walks great on a leash, wants affection and gives affection, he eats good and rides well in a car. He gets along great with other dogs. He loves outside and enjoy’s setting in the sun. He prefers to sleep with foster mom and when he is hanging out in the living room he wants to lay on the couch instead of a doggie bed.
For those who don’t know Rocky’s story He was in a shelter who reached out to United Yorkie Rescue. He needed his medical needs taking care of. Rocky was coughing and Foster Mom thought it could be trachea issues, The Dogtor thought maybe Kennel cough but when she listened to his heart she heard a significant heart murmur. He went to see the Cardiologist and had an echo of the heart and it was determined that he has Chronic Degenerative Valve Disease Stage C.
Some breeds can develop this condition at a relatively young age like Mr. Rocky.
Rocky’s condition is currently be managed very well with Three Medications. The proper precautions were taken with Anesthesia and Rocky was able to have a much needed dental and be neutered. Even though he may not live a long life (the average prognosis with this condition is 18-24months), he still has so much love to give and needs a home of his very own. Rocky needs someone who has the time and financial means to administer his twice daily medications. The most important thing Rocky needs is a dedicated person who will love him for the rest of his days. He is so worth the effort and expense! If you feel you can love him and give him the care he needs email foster mom at mandy@unitedyorkierescue.org If your able to donate to his medical care he has already received go to www.uyr.us and click on the paypal button underneath his bio.
