In the entire history of dogs we have saved, Salem ranks as one of the MOST beautiful. Her coloring is multi-faceted and memorable and her eyes are striking - in the sun, they change from an ice blue to a mint green, they’re practically electric with sparkle.
But Salem is SO MUCH MORE than her obvious and award-winning beauty. Salem is SMART. She’s one of those dogs that will figure things out you haven’t even considered. Salem is PLAYFUL - she will wrestle and run and gather until you think she can’t possibility have more in her tank and then, she will find another gear! Salem is LOVING - she likes to be near you and watch all the goings on. She’s a homework helper for her foster kids, a “clean up on aisle nine” assistant in the kitchen, and she is down to let you pick the program as long as she can join you on the couch in the evenings.
Salem has waited patiently for over a year and a half in our rescue. She has birthed her babies, raised them, watch them all find perfect homes and she continues to wonder where her family is and why they haven’t found her yet.
Salem - as every single husky-ish owner will concur - will take the opportunity to bolt out an open door so super young kids are not a great idea. But kids old enough to be responsible for helping to care for her would be awesome! She needs an active family and one who understands she will need daily stimulation and enrichment for her well- being and to avoid destructive behaviors associated with boredom and inactivity.
**Salem needs a friendly, playful dog in her forever home.
**She needs a fenced yard - big enough to become her race track, where she will plot out a course and set world records for speed AND endurance!
**She needs folks home more often than not as she craves your attention and togetherness with her people.
**Older children
Salem is so ready and so deserving of a loving and dedicated forever family.
Salem is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. Adoption donation is $250.

Maxx & Me is an all volunteer, all foster home rescue and do not have a shelter. Please allow at least 48 hours for applications to be processed (missing information may slow the process, so please take your time and be thoughtful in your answers). All dogs posted are available (so no need to ask). We place dogs based on best home for each dog and not order of applications received.
